Recasting The Breakfast Club With Modern Actors
The Breakfast Club is a 1985 John Hughes cult drama about five very different high school students on Saturday. As Kaya Plaka wrote in her review, the film "has enough emotion to leave a sweet taste in the mouth, without overwhelming it with its kitsch." Maybe that's why The Breakfast Club is still talked about and watched. It is a timeless classic that is immensely enjoyed by different generations. There has been much debate as to whether or not this classic should be remastered. In fact, Judd Nelson and Molly Ringwald, who played John and Claire respectively, have stated that the Breakfast Club remake will not work for several reasons.
However, the film could be an asset to the remake of The Breakfast Club , which has some toxic visuals. The way John "pursues Claire throughout the sex film" is troubling, Ringwald said candidly. So changes can correct those mistakes. The question is, who should play whom?

Carl Reed - Christian Bale
Carl's character may not appear often in the film, but his little screen time proves how intelligent he is. Carl, played by John Capelas, is the school janitor and seems to be the only adult who understands what these teenagers are going through. He seems to know every concern and secret and is a fly on the wall. Carl's friendship with Brian is definitely a good thing because it allows Carl to focus on more important things. The main thing about Carl is that he is the main antagonist of the film opposite the respected director Richard Vernon. Christian Bale may have played psychopaths and villains, but he has shown himself to be a kind and compassionate actor. Considering how Bell's facial features are, Carl might be the best actor for an actor.
Richard Vernon, Ralph Fiennes
Like Paul Gleason, Vernon is the king of bullies. Caring for high school students sounds like fun. As the film progresses, it becomes clear that Vernon is not only a powerful man, but also an evil one. The way he binds and threatens John shows how he wields his power over these teenagers. Also, Varno himself seems to break the rules to hurt these students. Everything is done to celebrate Shakti. If Ralph Fiennes is a good actor who can accurately portray the cold nature of villains, then Richard Vernon could be perfect. Interestingly, Fiennes is best known for his role as Voldemort in the Harry Potter series , where he terrorizes a high school student. In addition, the Slavic nature of the cook shows that he can suppress people's emotions in the kitchen and continue his cold attitude. So Fiennes could make Richard Vernon stronger and more tyrannical.
Allison Stephanie Hu
Alison is considered an "unfortunate case" and portrayed as a social anomaly. He hides his face under his hair, wears black and looks salty. Alison didn't edit the film and it was there because she didn't do anything else. Although her parents ignore her, Alison tries to escape with her bag full of clothes and other things. Interestingly, this particular character does not speak at first, but gradually begins to participate in the conversation. It's sad for Andre to understand that he refers to the "ideal woman" at the end of the movie. She plays Ally Sheedy, who does a great job as "Crazy" Alison. Stephanie Vee could have done a better job than Alison, who suddenly found herself a little rebellious in everything and everywhere . Xu is definitely an underrated actor who can play any serious role.
Andrew-Tom Holland
Andrew is an "athlete" so he's a typical high school athlete. The rape of someone else's "vulnerable" child is grounds for imprisonment. However, the bully reveals that the only reason he's annoying is to get his father's approval, which worries Andreas. Tom Holland makes the perfect modern remake of Andrew for many reasons. Holland first played a high school student in Spider-Man . Peter Parker's kindness can easily be transferred to Andrew's performance. He is best known for his role as Jack Holland in films such as Cherry and Charter. These films allowed Holland to portray physically strong characters, which enhanced Andrew's physical strength. Andrew was originally played by Emilio Estevez.
Claire Anya Taylor Joy
Originally played by Molly Ringwald, Claire is the popular "princess" or high school student. She is very focused on her looks and her "real and honest" personality and comes from a wealthy family. But like the other four, Claire has a difficult relationship with her parents. In the film, it is seen that she has a difficult relationship with John, and they end up together. Unfortunately, the relationship itself is very toxic, as it does not always make John comfortable. Anya Taylor-Joy can do justice to Claire by giving the character a more feminine feel. Taylor-Joy plays a strong female character who takes on male bullies. Also, Claire manages to capture the combination of her looks and personality.
What is the next movie about the comeback of the 80s classic "Members of the Family"?
Brian Lucas Hedges
Brian looks like an academic superstar. However, he cannot complete the 'workshop' on his own, so he fights on his own. Brian, played by Anthony Michael Hall, is the "brains" of the group. Brian was arrested for trying to kill himself by "shooting himself" while searching the store. Fortunately, the group allows Brian to be vulnerable and enjoy prison. After all, he is known as the film's narrator and noble character. Lucas Hedges would have been the perfect Brian, having once played the sweet, innocent boy in Lady Bird . His shyness makes it easy to win people's hearts.
John Austin Butler
John, the "criminal" of the group, probably has a very difficult family life. This made him "strong" to hurt others. John is constantly quarreling with Vernon and for no reason at all. He is a hero oppressed by adults, so the audience immediately feels for him. Viewers hate him for some of his actions, such as attacking Claire and hurting others like Brian. This is how Judd Nelson manages to create a complex relationship between John and the audience. As Austin Butler has shown the ability to play the complex roles of Elvis Presley, the beloved and hated character of John was the perfect balance.
